Throughout the 2012–2013 academic year, Mount Holyoke is celebrating 175 Years of Women of Influence. It’s a commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the College’s opening—an act that launched a revolution in women’s education—and a tribute to the thousands of alumnae who have used their Mount Holyoke educations to create, contribute, inspire, and lead. The Women of Influence Gallery showcases more than 100 of those remarkable alumnae.
As for the story of Mount Holyoke, you’ll find it chronicled in a timeline that places the College’s 175 years in the context of both world and women’s history. Mount Holyoke also seeks memories from alumnae and friends to personalize that record—and to preserve a new era in its legacy of leadership.
Now, as in 1837, Mount Holyoke stands out. The College’s reputation continues to be advanced by exceptional faculty, a truly global community of students, and visionary plans for the future.
175 Years of Women of Influence celebrates courage, commitment, and all the ways that women’s minds—and lives—change the world. Please join us in marking this grand occasion.
Special thanks to the Mount Holyoke College Archives and Special Collections and to the Mount Holyoke Alumnae Quarterly for their contributions to the Women of Influence Gallery and Timeline.
