Dulcy Singer received a B.A. in English from Mount Holyoke in 1955. From 1982 to 1993, she was the award-winning executive producer for the popular children's television series Sesame Street.
Singer also produced several direct-to-video and television specials.
Singer has won two Emmy awards, the first in 1979 in the category of “outstanding children’s program” for the episode “Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.” The second was in 1984, in the same category, for the episode “Don’t Eat the Pictures: Sesame Street at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.”
Singer served on the Mount Holyoke College Board of Trustees from 1986 to 1991 as an alumnae trustee.
The humor and creativity she brought to her contributions to Sesame Street ensured that the program continued to run successfully, both during the years she served as executive producer and afterwards.
