MaryAnne Young '81 was appointed vice president for advancement in 2012. She began her career at the College as a program officer for the Mount Holyoke College Alumnae Association from 1984 to 1986, then joined the Office of Development as an annual giving officer, progressing to director of annual giving in 1989 and to director of development in 1992.
During her decade as director, Young managed a staff of 38 and collaborated closely with the then-vice president of development, the trustees, and Mount Holyoke’s president and senior officers. She has been responsible for planning and implementing all fundraising efforts for the College, including two comprehensive campaigns. The current campaign, which concludes in 2013, has raised $253 million toward a $300 million goal.
Since Young joined the development office in 1986, $703 million has been raised for all purposes, including $176.7 million for the Annual Fund alone.
