Selecting courses

To meet requirements for the major, students will take design studio courses in architectural studies, as well as courses in art history, studio art, and related disciplines. Studios in architectural design and landscape architecture and a wide array of courses in architectural history, theory and urban planning are available through the Five College Architectural Studies Program.

For First-Years

First-year students interested in architectural studies should take The Built Environment (ARTH-101) which is a global survey of architectural history, either Drawing I (ARTST-120), or an Art Studio Foundations: Seeing, Making, Being course (ARTST-131) and Introduction to Architecture: Sculpting Space (ARCH-205).
