Spectrofluorimeter uses UV light to produce fluorescence spectra of molecules and nanoparticles. Thermodynamic and kinetic parameters involved in chemical reactions can be extracted by analyzing fluorescence spectra.
Mentoring students of color and monitoring the biosynthesis and biodegradation of bacterial polyesters in vivo are two focuses of Sheila Browne's work.
