Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. Some of the highlights of my graduate career have been spending a year as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cambridge (2007 - 2008) and receiving an Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award from Berkeley's Academic Senate (2010). Recently, I also completed my tenure as an Empirical Legal Studies Fellow through Berkeley's Center for the Study of Law and Society (2010). I'm now back in England finishing the qualitative research for my dissertation, titled "This Modern Day Slavery": Sex Trafficking and Moral Panic in the United Kingdom.
