Join Professor of Music Adrianne Greenbaum (vintage and modern flutes) and friends pianist Mark Gionfriddo and special guest Pete Rushefsky for an evening of music spanning three centuries.
A Tempest Evening – The Music of Shakespeare
Students in the fall Music course “Shakespeare and Music to 1800” present an original evening-length program of music, dance, and scenes from Shakespeare’s Tempest. Collaborating with faculty in Music, Dance, and Theatre Arts, the students will perform Elizabethan settings of songs from The Tempest and music from various seventeenth-century adaptations, interspersed with semi-staged excerpts from the play and some lively Renaissance dancing. Everything you see will have been researched, selected, orchestrated, and rehearsed by the students. Free and open to the public.
