The English Department held the 96th Annual Kathryn Irene Glascock ’22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition on Friday, March 22, 2018 in Gamble Auditorium at Mount Holyoke College. We thank all of this year’s contestants:

The English Department held the 95th Annual Kathryn Irene Glascock ’22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition on Friday, March 23, 2018 in Gamble Auditorium at Mount Holyoke College. We thank all of this year’s contestants: Michelle Chen ’21 (University of Massachusetts, Amherst), Jordan Jace ’18 (Williams College ), Noelle Powers ‘18 (University of Tennessee, Chattanooga), Kyra Spence ’18 (Barnard College), Grayson Wolf ’18 (Hunter College), and Linda Zhang ‘20 (MHC). The contest was judged by distinguished poets Donika Kelly, Joseph O. Legaspi, and Alicia Ostriker. Congratulations to Linda Zhang who placed first in the competition!
The 94th Kathryn Irene Glascock '22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition was held on Friday, March 31, 2017 in Gamble Auditorium, Mount Holyoke College. Many thanks to this year's readers and judges: Natalia Rodriguez '17 from City College of New York; Kwamesha Joseph '18 from Fordham; Anisha Pai '19 from MHC; Emily Robidoux ’17 from Smith; Malini Gandhi '17, Yale along with Ari Banias; Marilyn Chin; Ronaldo Wilson. Congratulations go out to Anisha Pai, first place and Natalia Rodriguez, runner up!
The 93rd Annual Kathryn Irene Glascock '22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition: The English Department at Mount Holyoke College congratulates Zoë Bodzas '16 of Hamilton College, the winner of the 93rd Glascock Poetry Contest, and Peter LaBerge '17 of the University of Pennsylvania, who was awarded second place. Without in any way minimizing the achievement of the winners, this year's judges--Matthea Harvey, Joshua Mehigan, and Carl Phillips--noted with appreciation the high level of promise shown in the writings and performances of all six contestants. Nina Shallman '18 (Amherst), James O'Connell '17 (Emerson), Rachel Schmieder-Gropen '18 (MHC), and Angela Nelson '17 (URI) joined with the two winners to take a warmly applauded bow at the end of the contest. Our thanks to them and to all who contributed to the success of the occasion.

The 90th Kathryn Irene Glascock ’22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition: The English department congratulates Jamie Samdahl, Smith College class of 2015, who received first place in this year's Glascock Intercollegiate Poetry Contest. Second place was awarded to Laura Naparstek of Skidmore College, class of 2013. We thank all the poet-contestants and judges who participated in this year's competition.
The 89th Kathryn Irene Glascock ’22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition: The English Department congratulates Garon Scott '12 from the University of Connecticut, Storrs who was awarded first place honors in the 2012 Glascock Poetry Competition. We also congratulate Katherine Kinkel '13, of Bowdoin College, who is this year’s runner up. The 88th Kathryn Irene Glascock ’22 Intercollegiate Poetry Competition: Congratulations to Kit Schluter '11 from Bard College who took first place in the 2011 Glascock Poetry Competition. MHC's Melissa Yang '11 was the year's runner up.
