Mbarou Chimère Diaw
I am 22 years old and live in Dakar with my uncle, aunt, and cousins. Also, I have two brothers. In addition to traveling and singing, I enjoy going to the beach with friends. However, what I enjoy most is being in class exchanging ideas with professors and classmates. At one time I was a table tennis player (l stopped for lack of time) and used to belong to the Senegalese Federation of Table Tennis. I was also a referee in this sport and served at the African Table Tennis Championship organized in 2003 in Senegal. As a secondary school student at John Fitzgerald Kennedy College, l was an active member of the English Club and served as treasurer. I also joined the drama committee. My desire is to be a translator as I enjoy helping people to understand each other. I have already had this experience during an Islamic Development Bank Summit where l worked as a bilingual hostess.
Currently, I am an MA student at Cheikh Anta Diop University in the English department, specializing in African literature. There, I work as a bilingual assistant in a sports management agency. Indeed, my boss is an agent for FIFA football players and, as many of our partners speak English, becoming familiar with the language is crucial. To broaden and complete my training, I also attended evening classes at a professional institute - “Sup De Co” - in order to be conversant on subjects like marketing, management theories, general accounting, enterprise taxation, etc…
