An international student from Vietnam, Duong is graduating with a double major in French and environmental studies. She began her study of French as a first-year at Mount Holyoke and has had an unforgettable growing experience in the department with much thanks to her professors, the French assistantes, Mary Fanelli, and fellow classmates throughout the years. She spent the spring semester of her junior year in Nantes, France, where she formed a long-lasting relationship with her host family and discovered a deep appreciation for the French language and culture. Upon graduation, Duong plans to return to her hometown, Hanoi, to work in the field of development and international relations, where she plans to integrate her studies of French and the environment. She looks forward to returning to the US or Europe some time in the future to pursue a Master’s degree in sustainable development.
