Field camp is an excellent opportunity to polish your geoscience skills. Mount Holyoke neither offers nor requires a field camp experience, however, we encourage it. Geology.com offers an up-to-date list of field camps. A field camp course may count for 4-6 credits in a geology major or minor.
The NSF funds research experiences around the country, most are well-paid summer internships through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. Many Geology majors find summer research experiences around the globe through the Keck Geology Consortium, of which Mount Holyoke is a member.
