Science Center Microscopy Facility

Electron microscopes are significantly improving the experiences of students, both in the classroom and in their research.

The Science Center Microscopy Facility was formally organized when the electron microscopes and several research-quality light microscopes from several science departments were designated to be part of an interdisciplinary facility. These microscopes and their ancillary equipment are open to all members of the college. The facility director is Blanca Carbajal Gonzalez. Specific courses in both Scanning Electron Microscopy (Biol/Geol 316) and Transmission Electron Microscopy ( Biol 320) are offered annually. Individual training on all of the instruments is available as well.
