MHSO - Mahler's First, Chausson's Poème

The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra presents Mahler's monumental first symphony as well as Chausson’s Poème, originally titled Le chant de l’amour triomphant, in this program exploring the hand of fate and of infinite love.  The MHSO is joined by one of the region's finest group of young musicians, the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestra. With soloist Amy Chen '17, violin.  Jonathan Lam, Ng Tian Hui, conductors.

Join the College and The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra in celebrating the lives and works of women throughout history with the music of alumna Karen LeFrak '69, the often overlooked contributions of Louise Farrenc to the French Romantic period, and Nkeiru Okoye's probing new monodrama and ever more popular songs of Harriet Tubman featuring soloists Synthia Pullum, soprano and Damian Norfleet, baritone.  This invigorating performance is conducted by Ng Tian Hui.

Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra — Heroic Fantasies

Come costumed and have a monstrous good time with movie music from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and E.T. and Star Wars. Plus dancing to the strains of the Waltz King, Johann Strauss.  Join us for this annual Halloween treat!  Ng Tian Hui conducts. Admission $5, Student/Seniors $3, available at the door.
