Please join us for an exhibit curated by Spencer Smith, Assistant Professor of Physics, featuring one of the great photographers of the twentieth century, Berenice Abbott who documented the rapidly changing world around her from the streets of New York City to the impact of new scientific discoveries. This exhibition explores Abbott’s groundbreaking images that illustrate fundamental physical laws, which she captured with precision and stark beauty. Convinced of photography’s unique capability to give science its voice, Abbott helped inspire a generation of scientists and her iconic images still influence physics education today.
SPS Summer Research Poster Session
Support your fellow physicists and see the research everyone has been talking about! Come for your love of learning, stay for the posters (and snacks).
Topological Data Analysis of Biological Aggregation Models
Join us as Prof.Topaz shares his research in the area of biological self-organization, which serves as the inspiration for algorithms in robotics, computer science, applied mathematics, and other fields. Lunch will be served!
