Pre-Law

Determining if and when you want to attend law school is a big decision that can be overwhelming at times. The good news is that we offer various ways to support your decision during (or after) your time here.  At Mount Holyoke College, pre-law advising is handled through the Career Development Center by Meghan Godorov.

Mount Holyoke challenges women to think critically about the world, to be open and fearless when it comes to change, and be prepared to advocate for justice. Your professors and your pre-law advisor are partners in this process, working together to help prepare you.

Pre-Law Resources

Pre-law advising can help you decide if a career in the legal profession is right for you. Through individualized appointments, experiential opportunities and events, and panel discussions, you will gain an understanding of the profession and be able to make a fully informed decision about pursuing a career in law.

The resources available to you include:

  • Site visits to prestigious law schools, area law firms, and governmental agencies
  • Panel discussions featuring alumnae, law school representatives, and local professionals
  • Workshops on the application process and the law profession as a whole
  • LSAT preparation

If you are seriously considering law school, contact Meghan Godorov with your name, class year, and email address so that you may receive the bi-weekly Pre-Law Email Newsletter.

Mount Holyoke College is a member of the Northeast Association for Pre-Law Advisors (NAPLA). The college's pre-law advisor attends this conference every June to share best practices with colleagues, learn about the trends and challenges facing the legal profession, and to provide students with the tools necessary to make an informed decision to attend law school.
