My psychology interests have to do with complex family systems, specifically families created by adoption. I am also interested in how individuals make meaning of adversity and difference in the formation of identity. My past research has examined transracial adoptees’ interest in searching for birth parents. I am currently working on a project with the Rudd Adoption Research Program to understand trauma and trauma-informed practice in adoption and foster care. This year I plan to investigate feelings of belonging and difference in young adult transracial adoptees.
