Medical Leave Policy for Students on Academic Leave

A student on academic leave from the College who withdraws from their program of study for medical reasons must adhere to the medical leave policies of the host institution. If they withdraw during the semester, their academic leave from the College will be converted to a medical leave. The student will have to be cleared to return to the College by the Director of College Health Services or the Director of the Counseling Service, by May 1, if they wish to return in the fall semester, or by November 1, if they wish to return in the spring semester. A student who withdraws from their program after the deadlines noted above, or too close to the deadlines to obtain clearance in time to return to the College in the following semester, may be required to take an additional semester’s medical leave before being allowed to return to the College.
