Amber Douglas

Associate Professor of Psychology and Education; Dean of Studies; Director of Student Success Initiatives

Amber Douglas is a licensed clinical psychologist. She teaches courses related to psychological distress, mental health, trauma, resilience and research methods. Her work lies at the intersection of social psychology and clinical psychology, specifically the interactions between social contexts and individual differences. She examines the impact of traumatic stress on cognitive processes, interpersonal health, and mental health in her work. In addition, Douglas investigates how race and other aspects of identity intersect with one’s appraisal and experience of stress, trauma and psychological well-being. Most recently, her work examines the role of psychological distress and resilience in academic contexts.

Emily Dean

Technology Access Coordinator

Emily brings nearly 15 years of experience working in the disability services field. In her current role as the Technology Access Coordinator, she assesses and supports student’s assistive technology needs on campus, coordinates alternative format accommodations, supports faculty in creating accessible course materials, and manages the Assistive Technology lab. She sits on a number of campus committees including the Software Cross-functional Task Force, the Computer Image Group, the Technology Access Committee, and the Training Taskforce of the Technology Access Committee.  Emily chairs the Accessible Documents and Media subcommittee, and represents Mount Holyoke on the Five College Technology Access Committee.

Andrea Emmershy

Notetaking Coordinator and Office Manager

Andrea Emmershy is the office manager for AccessAbility Services.  She is the initial point of contact for the department and can assist students with basic questions about accommodations, how to register and necessary paperwork required.   As Note taking coordinator Andrea works with students both receiving and taking notes. She hires and trains note takers and maintains the note taking site.

Aaron Ferguson

Senior Accommodation Coordinator

Aaron brings over 18 years of experience in accessibility services, academic advising, and academic success coaching to Mount Holyoke. Aaron's research has focused on Universal Design, integral student development, and trauma informed practices. Aaron focuses on the intersection of student, faculty and institutional needs to foster an accessible campus, curriculum, and community. He loves to be outside enjoying nature and is passionate about helping others increase their capacity to be their best selves!

Kaitlin Molloy

Senior Accommodation Coordinator

As the Senior Accommodation Coordinator, Kaitlin (she/her/hers) conducts intake and accommodation appointments and oversees AccessAbility Services’ Fellows program. Kaitlin serves on the college’s Concussion Care Team and represented Mount Holyoke College at the 2017 and 2018 annual AHEAD Conferences.
