Programs and Services
ADAP counseling services are available while the College is in session, from the time students arrive in the fall until graduation. ADAP Ccnseling services are not available during Thanksgiving recess, Winter recess, J-Jerm or March break.
Individual counseling is available for students who maybe experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs or are in recovery, those who have concerns about a significant other, or who feel they have been affected by another's drinking or drug use.
Three (3) session Mandatory Assessment
Services are provided to students referred by the Office of Residential Life, the Dean of Students Office, or the Athletic Department, who have violated the Mount Holyoke College or Athletic Department Alcohol and Other Drug Policies. These three (3) 50 minute individual appointments are an opportunity for students to receive a free personal assessment to discuss their relationship to alcohol and other drugs, and explore strategies for change.
Counselor facilitated groups provide an opportunity to explore recovery related issues for those affected by their own use or others use of alcohol or other drugs.
The Project sponsors a wide range of workshops and trainings for students and staff; campus-wide events such as speakers, panel presentations, and theater performances; and the development and distribution of current print and web-based materials. Educational materials include books, periodicals, videotapes, audio tapes, and pamphlets.
Confidential educational conversations are provided to offer support, information and referral to individuals and concerned others related to an alcohol or other drug concerns.
Two (2) hour mandatory alcohol education sessions are provided to students referred by the Assistant Directors from Residential Life or the Dean of Students, who have violated the Mount Holyoke College Alcohol and Other Drug Policies, free of charge.
