Huda Alawa

Diversity Outreach Fellow

Huda Alawa, class of 2015, is a current senior at Mount Holyoke whose passion for minority rights led her to major in Anthropology, with minors in Psychology and Law, Public Policy and Human Rights.  As a researcher with Harvard University's Pluralism Project, Huda investigated the experiences of Muslim Americans post the Boston Marathon bombings.  Huda has studied abroad at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, where she conducted independent thesis work at a cultural house, focusing on the politics of minority place-making.  She is currently the Regional Initiatives Director at Coming of Faith, LLC, an initiative working to empower Muslim American women to reclaim their work through storytelling.  Huda has been published on a variety of websites, including Mic (previously Policy Mic), and Huffington Post.  When not studying, Huda can be found working at Starbucks, watching New Girl, or eating sushi.
