Margaret Webb

Admission Tour Guide

Maggie Webb, class of 2016, is a Gender Studies major and is planning to do a Nexus minor in Educational Policy and Practice or Educational Studies. Her work in gender studies currently focuses around oppression studies, specifically disability studies.  She wants to conduct research in disability studies and education and the multitude of different ways in which children learn.  She is a Project Coordinator and a volunteer swim instructor for Project SPLASH!, a new C.A.U.S.E. project that was started in 2013 and provides free, individual swim lessons to children with disabilities in the Pioneer Valley by Mount Holyoke student swim instructors.  She is also on the Executive Board for our Jewish Student Union. During the fall of 2014, Maggie is studying in Amsterdam, Netherlands for a one-semester program through School of International Training (SIT) called "International Perspectives on Sexuality and Gender in the Netherlands."  Mountain Day is Maggie’s favorite day of the whole year.  “I love waking up early to hear the bells chime, I love the surprise feeling of classes being cancelled, and I love being outdoors, especially since autumn is my favorite season.”
