Casey Accardi, class of 2015, is a Psychology major and Nexus Global Business minor from Wellesley, MA. On campus, Casey serves as the Student Government Association (SGA) President and sings in an A Cappella group called the M&Cs. What Casey loves most about MHC is "how accessible faculty, staff, and administrators are." She says, "as SGA President, I've really gotten to know the people who make Mount Holyoke operate. Our entire community is incredibly rich and home to a wealth of accessible faculty, staff and support." Casey spent the fall of her junior year backpacking, rock-climbing, and canoeing through the southwestern wilderness on a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) semester course. "Spending 89 consecutive days camping was a real step outside of my comfort zone," Casey says, but the empowering experience she had in her first two years at MHC made her confident to try something new.
Casey has worked in Admission since the summer after her first year, has been a Teaching Assistant in the Physics Department, and has interned for the MA Department of Higher Education and Fullbridge, a start-up in the educational technology industry. Casey's favorite place on campus is the library atrium, especially given the recent addition of Dale Chihuly's piece, "Clear and Gold Tower." In her free time, she enjoys immersing herself in places unique to the valley, like the Montague Bookmill, local walking and hiking trails, and the Eric Carle Museum at Hampshire College. When it comes to post-grad plans, Casey is pursuing fellowships and opportunities in the business world.
