Norma Shindika, class of 2016, is an international student from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Norma is an Economics major and a French minor. She has had the opportunity to study abroad during her junior year at Universite Paul Valery in Montpellier, France. She found this experience to be eye opening and amazing as it gave her the opportunity to learn more about French culture and an ability to practice the language, but also to live in country that she has always been fond off. Outside the classroom, Norma is an e-board member of the Mount Holyoke African Caribbean Student Association (MHACASA). She also participates in many of the 5- College African students affairs. Norma has had the opportunity to intern with KPMG International as a junior summer analyst and has also conducted private research through an internship with EMBARK Energy using LYNK funding. In her free time, Norma enjoys going to Amherst and Northampton to different restaurants as food is one of her passions. Her favorite thing about Mount Holyoke is the amazing students that she has met here. She loves the fact that the students are always engaged and that discussions are also encouraged outside the classroom.
