Harriet Newhall Fellow
Sarah Champion, class of 2014, is a double major in Art History and Religion. She sees graduate school in her future; her ultimate goal is to establish a career in museum education or curation. In addition to taking lessons in dressage and participating in the Glee Club, she has interned in the curatorial department at Hancock Shaker Village and spent a semester abroad at Koc University in Istanbul. She is proud to be part of an institution that “stresses community over competition” without sacrificing academic rigor. At Mount Holyoke, Sarah says, the inspiration to challenge yourself comes from seeing the “incredible work other Mount Holyoke students put into their education.” Sarah’s free time is spent with friends, reading novels, or at the library atrium – her new favorite spot on campus thanks to the recent installation of Dale Chihuly’s magnificent scuplture.
