Sinafik Gebru, class of 2015 pairs her Biological Sciences major with a certificate-based minor in Culture, Health and Science offered through the Five College Consortium. One of the “many things” Sinafik loves about Mount Holyoke is “the vast cultural diversity. You will meet people from all over the world here,” she says. Recently, Sinafik spent the semester abroad through a Mount Holyoke-sponsored program at the Monteverde Institute in Monteverde, Costa Rica – an interdisciplinary program that combines international study with applied research and community development assistance. On her home campus, Sinafik’s favorite spot is Blanchard Campus Center. Besides having the best pizza, she says that “it is the hub of student life.” When she’s not at Blanchard, you might find Sinafik enjoying a movie at Tower Theaters or exploring the Pioneer Valley and neighboring towns with friends.
