Each year, the College receives many more applications from qualified candidates than we have space for in the fall class. In addition, study abroad patterns create midyear availability in our residence halls, allowing us to admit a cohort of first-year students for spring entry. The Admission Office identifies spring admits during candidate selection; those admitted for spring are notified at the same time as students admitted for the fall.
Spring matriculants use their fall semester to pursue a wide range of options. Some spend that time working or exploring their interests independently while others enroll in a gap program designed to help them gain professional or skills-based experience.
Students may have questions about what it means to enroll mid-year and how to spend their fall semester prior to attending Mount Holyoke. More detailed information regarding spring admission can be found on our FAQ page. After reviewing the Spring Admission FAQs, we invite you to contact us by email (email@example.com) with additional questions and to discuss mid-year entrance.
