Scheduling a Class Visit to the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum
To better serve you and to give us time to make all necessary preparations, we ask that you contact us 2-4 weeks in advance to arrange your Museum visit. Due to high demand, we reserve the gallery spaces and our classroom, the Carson Teaching Gallery, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Mount Holyoke College Art Museum’s public hours are Tuesday-Friday 11:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm, but with advanced notice, we can accommodate classes at other times.
When you are ready to reserve a date for your visit, please email the following information to Ellen Alvord, Weatherbie Curator of Academic Programs for each class you would like to bring to the Museum:
- Name of Instructor
- Department and course number
- Number of students in class (even if approximate)
- Preferred options for date and time of visit
- If known, objects or types of objects you would like to request
Scheduling a Class Visit to the Joseph Allen Skinner Museum
The Joseph Allen Skinner Museum is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays 2:00-5:00 pm from May through October, but faculty, students, and classes may visit any time throughout the year with advanced scheduling. To schedule a visit to the Skinner Museum, please send the above information to Aaron Miller, the Joseph Allen Skinner Assistant Curator at email@example.com.
Museum Guidelines for Your Class Visit
Please review the Museum Guidelines in advance of your visit. We ask that no food, drink, large bags, or pens be brought into the Museum. We provide pencils should your students need them. We also suggest that you share these guidelines with your students. The pdf can be uploaded to your Moodle class management site or emailed directly to the students prior to their Museum visit.
