Sergeant Bruno Duarte has been a sworn member of the Campus Police department serving Mount Holyoke, Hampshire and Smith College since 2007. Sgt. Duarte is currently assigned to third shift at Hampshire College. Bruno is a native of Portugal and a graduate of Ludlow High School and Westfield State University, BSCJ. Sgt. Duarte graduated the Special State Police Reserve Academy in 2007 and the State Police Academy in 2010, and is a sworn Sheriff in Hampshire County. Sgt Duarte is certified by the International Police Mountain Bike Association as a Police Cyclist, is Certified as a Sexual Assault Investigator, is Certified in the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory Buccal DNA collection, is Certified in the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center/Homeland Security Search Warrant preparation Training for drug enforcement, is Certified in the Identification, documentation, preservation, and seizures of mobile phone devices, is Certified by the American Heart Association Basic Life Support, AED, and CPR, and is Certified as a Field Training Officer.
