Peer Career Advisors

Available from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday in the CDC library, our PCAs help you to access CDC resources. For example, they provide you with the first steps in the internship search, brainstorm how to transition a high school resume into a college resume, help you to make business cards, and help you to access the Suit Yourself program if you need an outfit for an interview.

Janae Davis '19

Peer Career Advisor

Major(s): Physics & English, Nexus Engineering

Janae Davis' 19 is a junior peer career advisor at MHC majoring in Physics and English with a Nexus in Engineering. She is a community advisor in the Rockies, a board member for C.A.U.S.E and MHACASA and a volunteer swim instructor for Project SPLASH! This past summer, Janae was a student researcher in a biomedical engineering lab at MHC, where she designed and built three (3) open sourced 3D printed prosthetic hands. She hopes to pursue a career in biomedical engineering working with bionics and prosthetics.

Major: Economics

Kannah Landford '19 is a domestic student who is originally from Belchertown, Massachusetts. She enjoys being involved on campus and in the community. She is a Peer Career Advisor at the CDC. She is a board member of APAU as a 5 College Rep and a member of MHCASA and Women and Business. Last summer she interned at JP Morgan as a sales and trading summer analyst. She aspires to work in Wealth Management after graduation.

Favorite CDC resource: "My favorite CDC resource is the Vault Guide. It helps students learn a lot about an industry as well as helps them in terms of interviewing."

Isabel Kerr '19

Major(s): English, Politics

Isabel Kerr '19, an English and Politics double major, is a peer career advisor at the CDC. She is a staff writer for the Mount Holyoke News and a stage manager with a Five College organization, the UMass Theatre Guild. Isabel spent the summer giving tours and meet prospective students as a Summer Admission Fellow at the Office of Admission. She is interested in possible careers in higher education and theatre production.

Favorite CDC resource: "Walk-in hours for quick and targeted advice from students and staff. Helps you get started on adjusting things in your resume and cover letter."

Major(s): Neuroscience and Behavior

Theodosia Adu-Awuah a neuroscience and behavior student from Ghana, is a peer career advisor. She’s the treasurer of an acapella group called “Sacred Symphonies”. Last summer, she took summer classes at Umass Amherst in hopes of being a doctor one day.

Favorite CDC resource: "Handshake is my favorite resource because it provides an opportunity to access many internships online."

Annie Huynh '20

Peer Career Advisor

Major(s): Psychology

Annie Huynh ’20, a psychology major, is a peer career advisor at the Career Development Center. She is a student health aide at the Health Center, a member of MHC’s All Campus Elections, and is an events coordinator with Liga Filipina. She is currently a Sexual Reproductive Rights Advocates Trainer with Amnesty International, and an Urban Education Scholar with Teach Western Mass. Last summer, Huynh traveled to London and to Spain. She worked at United Neighborhood Houses, participating in The Advocacy Institute’s Training, attending meetings with supervisors and directors of Settlement Houses, and assisting with clerical duties. She plans to continue traveling and hopes to contribute to society and to her community through art, education, and writing.

Favorite CDC resource: "Handshake – It is simple and easy to navigate. Using the search filters helps tremendously with narrowing potential options, and there is information about the organization or company and what qualifications are looked for."
