Definite!: Rather than having an Exam 3 of pyramid type, students will choose one (and only one) of three options. The options are: A timed test on Wednesday, December 5 (done outside of class time), a project (3-5 page paper) to be chosen and carried out (by Wednesday, December 12) with consultation and assistance of JMorrow, and nothing. The project option is intended for those who do not intend to take Calculus II. It consists of some reading, some problem solving, and some writing about your reading and problem solving. The project topic should be something derived from your interests. If you are interested in doing a project, e-mail jmorrow a list of your interests and hobbies and disciplines you are considering for or have as your major/minor at MHC. For everyone's reference, there is a description of Test 3 responsibilities and a list of review problems at RESPONSIBILITIES: TEST 3.

A self-scheduled final exam will be taken on any one of the exam days Saturday, December 15 through Wednesday, December 19.  One question on the final will present one of the "Prelude" readings and ask you to respond to it by stating what you learned vis-a-vis the reading, the significance of the ideas referred to in the reading, and what questions remain for you.
