Guest Lecture: Elif Yamangil

Oct 23, 2014

During this lecture we will cover an application of Hidden Markov Models to context-sensitive spelling correction and introduce the concept of n-gram language models. We will then expand this framework to generative models that leverage general syntactic patterns in data and look into the application into the popular NLP task of automatic summarization.

Elif Yamangil is a software engineer at Google on the speech team. She has a PhD in computer science from Harvard University.
