the TA's should be able to help you. Four of them are assigned
specifically to our section. They are Tracy Gardner (Sunday), Laura
Rieber (Monday), Dina Jaber (Wednesday) and Langhan Dee (Thursday).
September 2, 2003:The textbook for the course is
Single Variable Calculus: Early Transcendentals
by
James Stewart,
fifth edition,
Wadsworth, 2002.
There are plenty of copies at the Odyssey.
Can you use the fourth edition?
The exposition was changed very little between the fourth
and fifth editions of this book, but the numbers in the exercises were
changed just enough to make it very inconvenient to use the earlier
edition for doing your homework. If you try to use the fourth edition
in class, you'll have to check every day to make sure you get the
correct homework problems.
