These three mystery photos were taken with a fluorescent microscope, and show the same structures at different times. You are looking at images of an entire organism, that was alive and healthy at the time of the photo session. Only part of the animal can be seen, because only part of the animal is glowing. It is oriented so that the anterior is to the left, and the posterior to the right.


1. It took about 5 days for these changes to occur.

2. Count how many elongated structures are finally formed.

3. These images were taken by Tina Fortier and Craig Woodard of the Biology Department, MHC. Think about what Professor Woodard studies.

4. Anyone who has taken Genetics is intimately familiar with this organism.
