That makes sense to me. What you are saying is that you are proud of certain traditions that have been passed on to you, that you share with others, especially your family, and that these traditions are an important aspect of your identity.

: How would you be able to at the same time acknowledge that there is no such thing as race and at the same time denote that you have pride in your own cultural background? Would it be permissible to say that you are proud to be hispanic (for example) while at the same time acknowledging that there is no such thing as race, that all that you are simply doing is refering to your cultural background not your supposed "ethnic" or "racial" background?
