I wouldn't call China a third world country. This doesn't make the capitalism/democracy theory more believable, though. I think that if all the capitalist requires is security for his enterprise, then a totalitarian system would work just as well.

Th basic gist is that capitalists won't make the inital investment without the security of democratic government because democracy tends to be less corrupt. What do y'all think?
