I agree that poor people believe that they can make it. I also think that there are some people who would claim to still be happy even though they're poor. They would claim that they don't need the extravagances of life and that, to a certain extent, they are satisfied with their position. Isn't this neoclassical?
: Sure, lots of poor people believe that if you work hard and save you will make it. If they have done this and did not make it then they often blame it on bad luck but still believe the system works. Don't you think so?

They asume that the government was involved to much, and that is why slavery continued to exist. how do they see that the government is to blame? and not the slave owners themslves. The neo-classical theory seems to work for the privliged and rich and not the poor. Why would a poor person belive in the neo-classical theory?
