Yes, communism is a concept. It means that the people who do the work are the people who get the profits from the work. The word has also been used in other ways to spread propaganda but that wasn't a social scientific use of the word. Professor Gabriel talked about that at some point, as I recall.

: : The Guaraní had a communist way of distributing the goods either way, before and after the mission was imposed. The economic system they followed is the same as the communist theory, for the most part. It just hadn't been defined as communism.

: : : In class we had were talking about how the Guarani (from the Mission)in fact had their own system of economics in play. It was also suggested that they taught the priests their way of life. So is it that they had a system of economics similar to communism and that's what they taught the priests? Might it be that they had they system going because it was natural to them and the priests just made it more of a structure?
