i agree that the movie showed how identity is very flexible but it also showed how rigid ideas about identity can lead to people being persecuted.

: I agree with you, I think it has to be a combination of everything. Like Mina's father considered himself african because he lived there his entire life and also indian because of cultural practices. I think the movie demonstrated how fluid those things are in the conversation where Dimitrius and Mina were talking about he is an african who has never been to africa, while she is an indian, who has never been to india.
