Feeding off ignorance

Posted by Crystal Bourbeau on November 29, 2001 at 00:09:49:

I thikn it is fascinating to see the dependency of ignorance in the financial market and the economy in general. We see this not only in the hiring of people in JT Marlin, but also selling it to people like Harry and the doctor. The market sustains itself because of exclusiveness, in its access to information (granted sometimes no one has access to it). Also, under what conditions do people have access? what type of leverage is used to gain info (networking, money, gender, education)? Also how much of economic success is ignorant bliss (keeping econ. stability through people not seeing change in prices in order to prevent inflation)?
