High Prices for necessities

Posted by Melissa McCormick on November 29, 2001 at 22:06:53:

I was thinking in class today when we were talking about the tobacco industry, about other types of product are subject to price inflation. It occurred to me that possibly the biggest annoyance is the high price for feminine products. I mean, once a month, you have to shell out at least $4-$5 for just one measly little box. Even in the bookstore, at a WOMEN'S COLLEGE no less, the prices for pads and tampons are outrageous!! And even the alternatives--Instead, etc., are quite pricey as well. It's irritating that those companies can get away with it because they know they're a necessity for women, and we'll shell out anything for the best protection.
Just a thought....
