I totally agree that economic status determines how much freedom you have in your purchasing choices. It seems to be especially true with food. If you don't have much money to spend on food, it's doubtful that you could give up meat or even eat healthy- the cheapest things at the grocery store are white bread and chicken wings. It sucks that only money can open up more choices. But I guess that's just another incentive to work harder.
