Darby Dyar (Astronomy) is a Co-PI in a grant from NASA for the project “The State of Sulfur on Mars; Understanding Sulfates and Sulfides”. The subaward to MHC will be $73,879. This is a collaboration with Dr. Melissa Lane, Senior Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute.
Darby Dyar (Astronomy) is a Co-PI in a grant from the NASA Planetary Geology and Geophysics Program for the project ”Integrated Spectroscopy of Pyroxenes: Composition, Structure and Thermal History. The subaward to MHC is $91,265. This is a collaboration with Rachel Klima, Applied Physics Laboratory.
Gary Gillis (Biology) has received a supplemental award of $6,000 from the National Science Foundation for his project “RUI Collaborative: Biomechanics and Control of Landing in Toads.”
Valerie Martin (English) has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship to support work on her latest novel, The Ghost of the Mary Celeste, which she plans to finish in spring 2012.
