Joseph Agron has been teaching high school mathematics at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School in South Hadley for the past nine years. He has also collaborated with, facilitated, and taught other mathematics educators through his work with the Collaboration for Education Services (CES) and the Western Massachusetts Mathematics Partnership (WMMP). Agron received his Bachelor’s Degree in History and completed the teacher education program at the University of Massachusetts. He then went on to get a Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on secondary mathematics at American International College.
Agron is passionate about mathematics education and helping students develop their understanding by constructing meaning for themselves through guided inquiry. He strongly believes that mathematics education is constantly evolving and that collaboration among educators is essential in developing one’s own practice as well as the profession as a whole.
Joseph lives in Belchertown with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys traveling with them, often to destinations where they can go on a nice hike. He also enjoys basketball.
