Amanda Coulombe '04
General Manager of Organizing, NGP VAN
Amanda Coulombe graduated from MHC in 2004 where she majored in Politics. Amanda is the General Manager of Organizing at NGP VAN. Previously, she spent five years in their Product department, working with national and international clients to improve and develop new features that help campaigns and organizations maximize NGP VAN’s organizing tools to win in the field. In her time with NGP VAN, she has worked with countless campaigns, including Obama for America and the Liberal Party of Canada, as well as many labor unions including the AFL-CIO, SEIU, AFSCME, and NEA.
Amanda believes strongly in marrying new technology with traditional organizing best practices to achieve efficient, grassroots-driven campaigns. She has also spent more than a decade working in field and get out the vote (GOTV) operations on local, state, and national campaigns. Most recently she served as the Statewide GOTV Director for both Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Ed Markey in her home state of Massachusetts.
Lauren Mednick '06
Founder & Executive Director, Elm City Internationals
Lauren Mednick graduated MHC in 2006 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Education. From 2007-2008 Lauren worked as a teacher at Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services (IRIS) in New Haven, CT. Lauren's work at IRIS inspired her to build her own non-profit organization, Elm City Internationals (ECI). ECI uses soccer to engage low-income youth, mostly immigrants and refugees, in academics. As Executive Director of ECI, her roles range from development work, to teaching to overseeing the college counseling and college follow-through program.
In 2010, Lauren received her master's degree in International Education Policy from NYU. In additional to running ECI, she also has worked as the Assistant to the CEO of Achievement First, which is fairly large charter school organization that runs approximately 30 high-performing urban charter schools in New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Divita Mehta '04
Vice President in Risk Management for Equities Prime Brokerage, Goldman Sachs
Divita Mehta graduated MHC in 2004 where she double majored in Economics and International Relations. She worked for Goldman Sachs from 2004-2007 in Derivatives Prime Brokerage, and then for Deutsche Bank from 2007 to 2015. She is now back at Goldman Sachs as Vice President in Risk Management for Equities Prime Brokerage.
In her tenure in Finance so far, she has been an internship coordinator for her desks as well as for securities division. In that capacity, she has learned a lot first-hand about what makes a candidate stand out in interviews, and how hiring decisions are made at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. She would like to share these insider tips with students from Mount Holyoke.
Outside of work, she likes to run, hike, and spend time outdoors. She and her husband live in NYC with their amazing daughter named Ava who is 2 yrs old.
