Service 5:30 Abbey Interfaith Sanctuary. We're looking for reflections from anyone who would like to share their thoughts on the theme of Rosh Hashanah. You can submit this form, which contains a prompt for reflection, and you have the option of sharing your reflection personally or having it read for you. We hope to hear some of your thoughts as we start a new year!

Rosh Hashannah Day 1

JSU is organizing rides for people who would like to go to morning services on September 21 at area synagogues. 

Morning Services at area synagogues

UMass Hillel - offers traditional egalitarian and reform services on Wednesday and Thursday and a meditation and chant service on Friday. RSVP in advance to attend services. Non-UMass students have the option to pre-pay for lunch and dinner. Both trad/egal and reform morning services on Thursday begin at 9:30 am. Take the 8:05 am 38 PVTA from Mount Holyoke to arrive at UMass by 8:40 am. 
 
Jewish Community of Amherst - Reconstructionist congregation that offers both a musical and a more traditional morning service on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as a outdoors service at the Notch Visitor's Center on Friday. Thursday morning services start at 9:00 am. JCA is about a 15 minute walk from the downtown Amherst 38 PVTA stop, take the 8:05 am 38 PVTA from Mount Holyoke to arrive in downtown Amherst by 8:30 am. Rochelle will be driving to services at JCA and has limited space in her car, email her at malte22r@mtholyoke.edu to reserve a spot. Adele Stock is also driving to JCA and has limited seats as well; you can reach them at stock22a@mtholyoke.edu.
 
Congregation B'nai Israel (Northampton) - Conservative congregation that offers an 8:30 am service on both Thursday and Friday. CBI is about a 20 minute walk from the Smith College 39 PVTA stop, take the 7:20 am Seemo Shuttle from Mount Holyoke to arrive at Smith College by 7:50 am. Amelia will be driving to services at CBI and has limited space in her car, email her at aender@mtholyoke.edu to reserve a spot.
 
Beit Ahavah (Florence) - Reform congregation that offers Wednesday night and Thursday morning services. The Thursday morning service will be at 9:30 am. You can get to Beit Ahavah by taking the Seemo or 39 PVTA into downtown Northampton and transferring to the R42 or R44 (both have a fare) at the Academy of Music stop. Amelia may also be able to drop students off at Beit Ahavah, email her at aender@mtholyoke.edu for details.
 
***We are also always looking for more drivers to give people options, so if you're planning on driving to morning services and are willing to carpool, let us know!***
