PRESENT — New and Contemporary Music for Treble Voices

Glee Club 2017-2018

"Present" is a concert of new and contemporary music for treble voices presented by the Mount Holyoke College Glee Club and Chamber Singers featuring a number of world premieres, plus a post-concert Q&A with featured composers.  Directed by Stephanie Council.  Free and open to the public.

The Glee Club and Chamber singers present two new choral compositions by Nathan Jones, a collaboration with Professor Thomas Ciufo, and a second performance of the 2017 commissioned piece by Gregory Brown with text by MHC alumna poet, Lee Ann Dalton.  The program will also include works by Abbie Betinis, Rhona Clarke, Andrea Ramsey, Joan Szymko, Kadri Voorand, and Lisa Young. An open Q&A discussion with composers Gregory Brown, Thomas Ciufo, and Nathan Jones will follow the concert.
