Gina McCarthy, former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, will present "The Future of the Planet: Climate Change, Health Equity & Environmental Justice." With 35 years as a public sector environmental leader and policymaker, McCarthy will tackle themes including impact investing for a sustainable future, current efforts to dismantle environmental and public health protections, and the bottom-line business case for sustainability.
Sponsored by the Miller Worley Center for the Environment.
McCarthy will also run a student leadership seminar hosted by the Weissman Center for Leadership on November 8.
McCarthy was the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under President Obama. Prior to that, she served the State of Connecticut as the commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the deputy secretary of the Office of Commonwealth Development and the undersecretary for policy for the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs.
