Located in South Hadley, in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, Mount Holyoke College is 90 minutes west of Boston, three hours north of New York City, and 30 miles north of Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut.
The Pioneer Valley is one of New England’s most beautiful and intellectually vibrant areas. It is home to the Five Colleges—Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, as well as the members of the Museums 10 consortium. The Village Commons in South Hadley—just across the street from Mount Holyoke—offers a variety of unique shops, several restaurants, a coffeehouse, a first-run movie theater, a U.S. Post Office and 24-hour banking facilities. Miles of bike trails, many scenic parks and conservation areas, and more shops, theaters, and attractions in nearby Amherst and Northampton are all easily accessible.
