A wide range of classes use the Fimbel Lab staff and equipment to support specific areas of study. Classes from robotics, costume-making, art studio, art history, theatre arts, architectural studies, even international relations have all used the lab facilities.
Students studying drones in an American foreign policy class learned how to make a drone rover, which they tried out in the atrium of Kendade Hall. The 2016 Future of Jobs class was introduced to robots. Entrepreneurship classes, sculpture students and students studying architecture and stage design all use the laser cutter and 3-D printers — and more.
Have a final project for your class that needs a model created on the 3-D printer or laser cutter? Make an appointment to find out what’s possible. We encourage students to apply for funding and support of independent study projects receiving academic credit.
