My name is Wendy Anderson. I am a Politics Major - Jewish Studies minor and this is my first semester as a Frances Perkins Scholar, Class of 2015. Originally from New York City, I live now in Leominster, MA and I miss pizza and bagels from home. I am a proud mother of two children with special needs and I have hopes of getting involved in politics to advocate for my children and others like them. I also want to help reform legislation dealing with women's issues, voters rights, and racial and LGBT equality. While at Mount Holyoke College, I plan to get involved with the College Democrats and the student newspaper where I can combine my love of writing and politics with my desire to become part of the MHC community despite being a commuter. I came back to school later in life but I found in Mt. Holyoke, a place that embraces that and made me feel like it is never too late to fulfill my educational and career dreams. In my spare time, I love to read, bake with my kids, and keep a book review blog and a political blog. My big dream is to travel with my kids and husband to England and Scotland to walk in the footprints of kings and queens and search for Hogwarts. So far I love Professor Ferraro's class and I highly recommend him.
